Another name was added to the face of our Virgin Mary, the "Queen", the only Holy Icon found in the Church of Saint George of the Holy Unmercenaries, Mouzaki, Karditsa, which depicts the Virgin Mary as a Queen and Christ standing, wearing her crown with an inscription that says: "And may the King of your beauty desire it" while on the side of the Virgin Mary it is inscribed: "Your Queen has appeared at your right hand, clothed in gold, adorned with splendor". That is why She was called Queen, from the verse of Psalm 44 of King David. It is the only Holy Icon that gives, in hagiographic terms, the honor that is given to the face of the Mother of the Lord, after Her Dormition and Transmigration to Heaven. It is celebrated and celebrated on August 15, the day of the Assumption and Transfiguration of the Virgin Mary.

According to Orthodox tradition, the miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary Soumela was painted by the Apostle Luke. The name “Soumela” comes from the Pontic phrase “shou Mela,” meaning “to Mela,” referring to Mount Mela in Trebizond.

After Luke’s death, his disciple Ananias brought the icon to Athens, where it was first known as Panagia Athiniotissa. In 386 AD, Athenian monks Barnabas and Sophronios, guided by visions of the Virgin Mary, followed a miraculous journey through Greece and Asia Minor to Trebizond. There, the icon led them to a glowing cave on Mount Mela. They built a church in her honor, carved into the mountain—thus founding the Monastery of Panagia Soumela, which became a major spiritual center.

After the expulsion of the Pontic Greeks, the icon was brought to Athens. In 1952, it was enshrined on Mount Vermio, where it remains a symbol of faith and cultural heritage.

The position of the prophet Elijah is special in the choirs of the Prophets of the Old Testament. In the New Testament his name is mentioned many times by Jesus Christ himself. The prophet Elijah lived in the 9th century BC. century and came from Thesvi (hence it was named Thesvitis). He practiced his prophetic gift for 25 years during the reign of King Ahab. He foretold the coming of Christ to earth, 816 years before his birth Endowed with miraculous power, he fought with zeal and self-sacrifice for the exaltation of the worship of Yahweh (God), fought against idolatry with passion and tried with his word to sanctify the moral life of his people. His faith was so great that he sent down fire from heaven three times, stopped the rain, and raised the dead. In fact, with the fire, he burned the soldiers that King Ochozias had sent to arrest him. On Mount Horib he gained experience of theophany (he saw God himself), crossed the Jordan and finally ascended to heaven in a chariot of fire. He also attended the Transfiguration of Christ with Mose.
