Agios Symeon

Symeon lived in Jerusalem. He was righteous, pious, and enlightened by the Holy Spirit, who had revealed to him that he would not die before he saw Christ. This joyful information enlivened him until his deep old age. Finally, exactly forty days after the birth of Jesus, the Spirit informed him that he had to go to the Sanctuary. So he prepared with youthful vivacity, went there and stood at the door, full of pleasure and delight.
